Supported Employment Specialist

The Job Coach works with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities that are seeking job training, job development, and support during employment. 


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Superior documentation and tracking

  • Prepare participant for paid community employment 

  • Teaching such concepts as compliance, attendance, task completion, problem-solving, professionalism, and safety are associated with performing compensated work.

  • Assist the participant in completing provided specialized training

  • Follow participants Service Plan

  • Develop the participant’s Vocational Profile

  • Maintain regular contact with each participant and employer

  • Some Job Development may be required


REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA in Education, SW, Psych or related field and 1 year human services experiences; or AA in Education, SW, Psych or related field and 2 years human services experience; or No degree and 4 years human services experience preferred but not required.

  • Animal experience and/or willing to learn

  • Compassion plus an ability to set limits and follow through

  • Clear Criminal Records Check

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, listen carefully, interpret accurately & respond to a high volume of requests

  • Knowledge and sensitivity to cultural differences

  • Knowledge of business markets in Colorado

Job Description
The Direct Care Staff works with the Day Program Director, the Support Employment Director, and consumers enrolled in Soul Dogs, Inc.

The Direct Care Staff provides direct care to intellectually and developmentally disabled consumers. The Direct Care Staff hired for this position will also be providing ASL translation for our participants that have speech and hearing impairments. We currently have one participant in our program that needs translation.

The staff hired for this position will be at the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9am until 3 or 4pm.

The staff hired for this position will be utilized in multiple programs of ours, depending on which program the speech/hearing impaired participant is participating in that day: day program and/or job coaching.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Day Program Staff / Community Engagement Specialist

Job description

Soul Dogs, Inc. provides community-based day program for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. As the 'SCC Staff', your job will be to take groups of 5+ SCC participants on fun 'outings' in the community. The participants will meet you at the Soul Dogs, Inc. office/HQ in Westminster. From there, you will hop in the Soul Dogs van and go on whichever outing is planned that day. You will eat lunch in the community with the participants, and teach them important life skills to help them gain independence and autonomy.

Outings include, but are not limited to -

  • Museum tours

  • Parks for sports and picnics

  • Hiking

  • Group fitness classes

  • Volunteering

  • Etc! You and your SCC groups are strongly encouraged to contribute to the outing schedule!

SCC groups run Monday-Thursday from 9am-3pm, and Fridays from 12pm-3pm. Staff are responsible for leading outings and activities, supervising all participants in the office and community, transporting participants to outing sites, and tracking progress of participants at the end of their shift.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide daily activities to increase skills consumers need to live as independently as possible.

  • Provide support to consumers experiencing anxiety, trauma, and difficult behaviors.

  • Maintain contact with the behavior therapists and Executive Director as needed to ensure the Behavior Plan is being carried out as written.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience working with individuals with DD/ID in the community (preferred)

Job Description
Participant Transporters transport participants to and from each of their services. Participants will be located in different locations and cities around Denver Metro. Your route will be tailored to your area as best we can, but transportation services may be needed in any part of town. Transportation can be done with a Soul Dogs, Inc. transportation van.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

❑ Show up on time to all transportation pick-ups and drop-offs.

❑ Provide supervision for participants upon approaching vehicle, in the vehicle, and as they leave the vehicle to their next destination.

❑ Assist participants with walking, carrying items, opening doors, and other mobility needs during transportation

❑ Respond appropriately and methodically to behavioral needs and escalations that may arise during transportation.
